    I work out at night (around 8:30 or 9:00 pm) because I have 2 kids, work full time, and it’s the only time I can do my workout at home. I’m doing the Turbo Fire at-home workout by Beachbody – high intensity cardio kickboxing on most nights, with some toning sessions added in. I just started my Body by Vi program, and I’m doing my shake mainly for b-fast and lunch, and then my normal meal is dinner. Do I have to have a post-workout recovery shake, even though I’ve already had 2 shakes by the time I do my workout? Or, since it’s mostly cardio, can I skip eating at all after my workout, and maybe just have a couple of boiled eggs or greek yogurt on the nights I do toning? Would love your feedback! Thank you. :)

    I would recommend a ‘snack shake’ so that you are getting the best post workout recovery shake possible. 2 scoops of Vi-shape shake that is blended with just unsweetened almond milk and ice will have less than 150 calories. That would give you the tri-sorb protein to help you to put on more lean muscle and drop fat. You want the best results possible, and getting the Vi-shape in post workout, even if it is mainly cardio, will do that for you!

    Hi, I’m currently working on losing about 20-25 pounds in the next 2-3 months. I drink a shake for breakfast and lunch, and I choose healthy snacks throughout the day with a normal dinner. My problem is I do extensive cardio at night around 6-7 PM (roughly 3-5 mile run) and I’m wondering whether I’m actually eating enough calories. My first two days I got around 1500 in which seemed a little low for the amount I was running. Do you have any advice? Should I bump up my calorie count and maybe switch my 2nd shake from lunch to dinner?

    I would say you absolutely do want to have a Vi-shape shake after that run. Its the best post workout recovery plan- and will help you to maintain muscle. That is critical.
    You may want to increase your calorie intake in lean protein and veggie snacks to about 1800-2000 calories too – as 1500 is probably too low for a guy who is running.
